1. Description of the Service
PetLog is an iOS application designed for comprehensive pet management. The service includes the following core features: • Social Feed: a space for sharing photos, moments, and experiences about your pet with other members of the PetLog community. • Interactive Pet-Friendly Map: a location-based tool that helps you find pet shops, veterinary clinics, parks, and other pet-friendly establishments near you. • Artificial Intelligence Assistant: a feature that provides general tips and guidance on pet care, available both in local mode (on-device processing) and premium mode (cloud processing). • Health Tracking: records for vaccinations, veterinary appointments, medications, and other pet health information, with an automated reminder and notification system. PetLog is developed and maintained by Sergio Vieira, an independent developer, and may be used free of charge with basic features or through a premium subscription for access to advanced features.
2. Registration
Registration on PetLog is performed exclusively through Sign in with Apple. By creating an account, the user authorizes the sharing of their name and email address (or Apple's private relay email) with PetLog. To use PetLog, the user must be at least 18 (eighteen) years of age or, if a minor, have the express consent of a parent or legal guardian, in accordance with Article 14 of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018 — LGPD). Each individual may maintain only one active account on PetLog. The creation of multiple accounts by the same person may result in the termination of the additional accounts. The user is responsible for maintaining the security of their Apple ID account and, consequently, access to PetLog. The developer is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from the compromise of the user's Apple ID account.
3. Rules of Use
By using PetLog, the user agrees to: • Post only original content or content for which they hold proper authorization, respecting the copyright and image rights of third parties. • Not post illegal, offensive, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, pornographic content, or content that promotes violence or animal cruelty. • Not use the application for spam, unauthorized advertising, chain messages, or any form of unsolicited mass communication. • Not use bots, scripts, crawlers, or any other automated means to access the service or extract data from the platform. • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, servers, or networks connected to PetLog. • Use the application in a manner consistent with its intended purpose and in compliance with applicable law. The user is fully responsible for the content they publish on PetLog, including text, photos, and other materials. The developer reserves the right to moderate, remove, or restrict the visibility of any content that violates these Terms of Service or applicable law, without prior notice. Failure to comply with the rules of use may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of the user's account, at the sole discretion of the developer.
4. Intellectual Property
The PetLog application, including its brand, logo, design, source code, architecture, institutional text, and all other elements comprising the service, are the exclusive property of Sergio Vieira and are protected under Brazilian intellectual property law, including the Copyright Law (Lei nº 9.610/1998) and the Industrial Property Law (Lei nº 9.279/1996). The user retains all rights to the content they create and publish on PetLog, including photos, text, and other materials. By publishing content on the platform, the user grants PetLog a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute such content exclusively within the PetLog platform and for purposes of operating the service. This license remains in effect for as long as the content remains published on the platform. The user may revoke this license at any time by deleting the content or their account. Content deletion will be processed within a reasonable timeframe, subject to the technical limitations of the system. The reproduction, distribution, modification, or reverse engineering of the PetLog application, in whole or in part, without the prior express authorization of the developer, is strictly prohibited.
5. Premium Subscription
PetLog may offer additional features through a premium subscription, managed entirely by the Apple App Store using the StoreKit framework. Subscription billing is processed directly by Apple through the user's Apple ID. All pricing, payment terms, automatic renewal, and cancellation are governed by Apple App Store's policies and terms. If PetLog offers a free trial period, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period, unless the user cancels before the trial ends, directly through their Apple ID account settings. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with the App Store's refund policy. The PetLog developer does not process payments or issue refunds directly. The developer reserves the right to change, add, or remove premium plan features at any time, with prior notice to subscribers. Price changes will be handled in accordance with Apple App Store policies and applicable consumer protection legislation (Lei nº 8.078/1990 — CDC).
6. Artificial Intelligence Assistant
PetLog provides an artificial intelligence-based assistant that offers general tips and guidance on pet care. This feature operates in two modes: • Local mode: uses the Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models framework for processing directly on the user's device, without sending data to external servers. • Premium mode (cloud): uses processing via Supabase Edge Function for advanced features, available to premium subscribers. IMPORTANT: The information provided by the AI assistant is for general informational and educational purposes only. The assistant does NOT, under any circumstances, constitute professional veterinary advice, clinical diagnosis, or treatment prescription. The AI assistant does not replace consultation with a qualified veterinarian. The developer is not liable for any decisions made by the user based on information provided by the AI assistant, including but not limited to decisions regarding the health, nutrition, medication, or treatment of animals. The user acknowledges and accepts that results generated by artificial intelligence may contain inaccuracies and should always be validated by a competent veterinary professional.
7. Limitation of Liability
PetLog is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of uninterrupted availability, absence of errors, or fitness for a particular purpose. The developer will use reasonable efforts to keep the service available and functional but does not guarantee continuous and uninterrupted availability of the application or its servers. Scheduled or emergency maintenance may cause temporary service interruptions. The developer shall not be liable for: • Loss of data stored locally on the user's device or on the service's servers, resulting from technical failures, operating system updates, or any other causes beyond the developer's reasonable control. • Direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use the service. • Service interruptions caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, telecommunications infrastructure failures, cyberattacks, pandemics, government actions, or any other events beyond the developer's reasonable control. • Content posted by third parties on the platform, in accordance with the Marco Civil da Internet (Lei nº 12.965/2014, Article 19). Nothing in these Terms limits the consumer's rights under the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code (Lei nº 8.078/1990 — CDC), to the extent that such rights are applicable to the relationship between the user and the developer.
8. Account Termination
The developer may suspend or terminate the account of any user who violates these Terms of Service, without prior notice, especially in cases of: • Posting illegal content or content that violates the rights of third parties. • Using automated means to access the service. • Creating multiple accounts. • Any conduct that compromises the security or operation of the service. The user may request account termination at any time through the application's settings or by contacting contato@petlog.fun. Upon account termination, for any reason, the user's personal data will be deleted from PetLog's servers within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal data retention obligations under Brazilian law, including the Marco Civil da Internet (Lei nº 12.965/2014) and the LGPD (Lei nº 13.709/2018). Data stored locally on the user's device must be deleted by the user themselves by uninstalling the application.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, including, as applicable: • The General Data Protection Law — LGPD (Lei nº 13.709/2018). • The Consumer Defense Code — CDC (Lei nº 8.078/1990). • The Marco Civil da Internet (Lei nº 12.965/2014). • The Brazilian Civil Code (Lei nº 10.406/2002). For the resolution of any disputes arising from these Terms of Service or the use of the service, the competent forum shall be the forum of the consumer's domicile, in accordance with Article 101, item I, of the Consumer Defense Code, or, when the CDC does not apply, the forum of the developer's domicile. The user may also resort to the online consumer dispute resolution platform provided by the Brazilian Federal Government (consumidor.gov.br), when applicable.
