Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for the personal data collected by PetLog is Sergio Vieira, an independent developer, acting as controller under Article 5, item VI, of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018 — LGPD). For any questions regarding the processing of personal data, the data subject may contact the controller at: contato@petlog.fun.
2. Data Collected
PetLog collects and processes the following categories of personal data: • Account data: name and email address (or private relay email) provided by Sign in with Apple. We do not request or store passwords. • Pet data: name, species, breed, age, health records (vaccinations, appointments, medications), and other information entered by the user about their pets. • Photos and images: pet photos and posts uploaded by the user to the social feed, stored on Supabase Storage in compressed JPEG format. • Location data: geographic coordinates of the device, collected only when the user expressly authorizes location access, used exclusively for the interactive pet-friendly map feature (via MapKit/CLLocationManager). • AI chat messages: content of the user's conversations with the artificial intelligence assistant, used to generate contextual responses. • Voice data: PetLog uses the Apple Speech framework for speech-to-text conversion. All voice processing is performed locally on the user's device. Audio data is NOT sent to external servers and is NOT stored by PetLog. PetLog collects only the data strictly necessary for providing the service, in accordance with the principle of necessity set forth in Article 6, item III, of the LGPD.
3. Data Storage
Personal data collected by PetLog is stored in the following locations: • Local storage: pet data, health records, and user preferences are stored locally on the device using the SwiftData framework (SQLite), enabling offline functionality of the application. • Remote storage: account data, social feed posts, and other synchronized information are stored in a PostgreSQL database managed by Supabase. • Photo storage: images uploaded by the user are stored on Supabase Storage in compressed JPEG format. Supabase servers may be located outside of Brazil. International data transfers are conducted in accordance with Article 33 of the LGPD, based on contractual necessity for the provision of the service and the data subject's consent. The developer adopts reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, destruction, loss, alteration, or any form of improper or unlawful processing, as required by Article 46 of the LGPD.
4. Artificial Intelligence Processing
PetLog uses artificial intelligence in two distinct modes, each with different implications for data privacy: • Local mode (Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models): processing is performed entirely on the user's device, using Apple's artificial intelligence models. No data is sent to external servers in this mode. Data remains under the user's exclusive control. • Premium mode (cloud): available to premium subscribers. The user's queries are sent to a Supabase Edge Function for processing by a cloud-based language model. The data sent is used exclusively to generate the requested response and is NOT stored beyond the current session. After processing, the query data is discarded. The user is informed about which processing mode is being used and may choose to use only the local mode, avoiding any transmission of data to external servers.
5. Third-Party Sharing
PetLog does NOT sell, trade, or share users' personal data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose. Personal data is shared exclusively with the following infrastructure providers, strictly necessary for the operation of the service: • Apple: responsible for authentication (Sign in with Apple) and payment and subscription management (App Store / StoreKit). Data processing by Apple is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. • Supabase: responsible for backend infrastructure, including database (PostgreSQL), supplementary authentication (Supabase Auth), and file storage (Supabase Storage). Data processing by Supabase is governed by their own terms of service and privacy policy. The developer may share personal data when required by law, court order, or request from a competent authority, in accordance with Brazilian law.
6. Retention and Deletion
The user's personal data is retained while the account is active and as necessary for the provision of the service. The user may request complete deletion of their personal data at any time through the application's settings or by sending a request to contato@petlog.fun. Following a deletion request, personal data will be removed from PetLog's servers within a reasonable period, not exceeding 15 (fifteen) business days, except in cases of mandatory retention required by law, including: • Connection and application access logs, which must be retained for 6 (six) months, in accordance with the Marco Civil da Internet (Lei nº 12.965/2014, Article 15). • Data necessary for compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation by the controller (LGPD, Article 16, item I). Data stored locally on the user's device is the user's own responsibility and may be deleted by uninstalling the application.
7. Your Rights (LGPD)
Under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018 — LGPD), the data subject has the following rights: • Confirmation of the existence of processing of their personal data. • Access to the personal data collected and processed by PetLog. • Correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data. • Anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, or data processed in violation of the LGPD. • Data portability to another service provider, upon express request. • Deletion of personal data processed on the basis of consent. • Information about public and private entities with whom the controller has shared data. • Information about the possibility of withholding consent and the consequences of refusal. • Revocation of consent at any time. • Opposition to processing carried out on the basis of one of the grounds for dispensing with consent, in case of non-compliance with the LGPD. These rights may be exercised through the application's settings or by sending a request to contato@petlog.fun. The developer is committed to responding to data subject requests within a reasonable period, not exceeding 15 (fifteen) business days. The data subject also has the right to file a complaint with the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) regarding the processing of their personal data.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The PetLog landing page uses only essential cookies, limited to the user's language preference. These cookies are strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the website and do not require prior consent under applicable law. The PetLog iOS application does NOT use cookies, tracking pixels, third-party analytics tools, or any other mechanism for tracking user behavior. PetLog does not perform behavioral profiling of users for advertising or targeted marketing purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
PetLog is not directed at children under 13 (thirteen) years of age and does not intentionally collect personal data from children in this age group. To use PetLog, the user must be at least 18 (eighteen) years of age. Users under 18 (eighteen) years of age may only use the application with the express consent of a parent or legal guardian, as provided in Article 14 of the LGPD. If the developer becomes aware that personal data of a child under 13 has been collected without proper parental or legal guardian consent, such data will be promptly deleted.
10. Changes to This Policy
The developer reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, to reflect changes in data processing practices, application features, or applicable law. Material changes to this Policy will be communicated to users through an in-app notification. Continued use of PetLog after the publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. Users are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed about how their personal data is processed.
